Deeds Office Process
The final stage in any property transfer is lodgment and registration at the Deeds Office. The Deeds Office process takes between 7-10 business days and can be explained as follows:
1. LODGMENT
The Transfer Attorneys, Bond Cancellation Attorneys and Bond Registration Attorneys will arrange for simultaneous lodgment/handing in of their documents at the Deeds Office.
2. PRINTOUTS
Personal printouts of the Seller, Purchaser and property are made and the Deeds Office confirms whether there are any interdicts registered against the property.
3. DISTRIBUTION
The documents are sorted for distribution to the Examiners.
4. EXAMINATION
The documents are examined by Junior and Senior Examiners and the Assistant Registrar.
5. PASS / REJECT
The documents are passed or rjected by the Examiners.
6. PREP
Documents that are passed are sent to delivery and placed on prep.
7. REGISTRATION
If all is in order, the documents are put forward for registration.
